These will be separate bugs, so let's use this one for panel applets, and use a
different one for changing hotkeys.
I cannot reproduce the issue by adding a Digital Clock applet to a Plasma Panel
and then *immediately* killing plasmashell with `killall -9 plasmashell` in a
terminal window. That's pretty much what an unexpected shutdown will do. Can
you reproduce the issue in this way?
