What I'm seeing it's not that yakuake doesn't accept input but that it loses
focus. I can see the shell cursor change from ▮ to ▯ after maybe a second when
I click on it to give it focus.
This started yesterday after upgrading plasma packages to 5.25.3 on Arch Linux.
Maybe the issue is in kwin?
