            Bug ID: 457756
Summary: Make text and lines operations easy to access
           Product: kate
           Version: 22.04.3
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: application
          Assignee: [email protected]
          Reporter: [email protected]
  Target Milestone: ---

Kate is good, but what makes it less usable than Sublime Text and other text
editors is that most basic lines and text operations like : line sorting
(reverse), delete duplicates, remove empty, trim leading/trailing,
indent/unindent, swap lines, shuffle... are hidden and difficult to access for
normal users or not existent, so wouldn't be much better to add those basic
operations to Edit menu ?
I know you can learn by heart those tons of shortcuts or use Ctrl+Alt+I to
search for some of them but you need to invoke shortcut then type some text
then search in results so it takes longer to find them than that mysterious
ambiguous Tools>Scripts>Editing.
And those basic operations are needed much by any average user who wants from
time to time a light text editor to edit simple files.
