I currently run a polling bash script to reset with xinput (`sudo udevadm trigger -s input` has no effect for me). This sounds minor, but unfortunately, my regular mouse is a SteelSeries Aerox 3 Wireless, which only has about 80 hours battery life when running full-tilt, so I have to disconnect/reconnect at least once (often a couple of times) per week to charge.
