I don't get the remark about "without a UI". Not having a L&F package shouldn't mean there is no UI, only that there is no easy way to control how the UI looks and feels, right? Also, I don't think SpotLight and Krunner have more than partial (and limited) overlap. SpotLight is a file and metadata indexing engine with a search interface, the most easily accessible of which corresponds roughly to Milou .
