Bug ID: 459822 Summary: Blending raw images (-2,0,+2 Ev) does not result in exposure blend. (all three TIFFs are corrected for 0Ev before merging.) Classification: Applications Product: digikam Version: 7.8.0 Platform: Manjaro OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: Plugin-Generic-ExpoBlending Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: newmi...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY *** When merging/blending a series of bracketed exposures (-2,0 and +2Ev) in Pentax PEF format, the align_image_stack step creates three near identical files in /tmp (aligned0000.tif, aligned0001.tif and aligned0002.tif) after the align_image_stack step but before the merge dialog. The final merged file ends up exactly identical to the original 0Ev exposure. I shoot RAW+ so I did the merge on the associated JPEG files (like the PEF raws, straight out of the camera) and there the results are as expected. The /tmp sligned images clearly show correct-, under- and overexposed versions and the final merged tiff file clearly show the blended version. *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Select 3 handheld PEF (presumably/maybe all raw formats) and start the blend process 2. Accept the location for enfuse and align_image_stack 3. Wait until the dialog indicates alignment step is complete 4. Check intermediate aligned000x.tif files in /tmp OBSERVED RESULT Exposure blending raw files causes align_image_stack to convert raw to auto-exposed aligned tiffs before merging (by...libraw?) negating the expected result of a merged (HDR-based) end image. EXPECTED RESULT An exposure blended version where the best exposed parts of multiple exposures in a bracketed series are blended into the final result.
