Bug ID: 460685
Summary: Kscreen 5.26 appears to break my DP monitor
Classification: Plasma
Product: KScreen
Version: 5.26.0
Platform: Archlinux
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: common
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
Issue: If external screen powers off, then I can't make it display anything,
all I get is a flickering internal monitor, and and no output on external
screen. Screen settings keeps refreshing, same with nvidia-settings.
It seems that kscreen 5.26 and 5.26.1 breaks my external display. I suspected
Nvidia, so downgraded from 520.56.06 to 515.76, but it didn't solve the issue.
Disabling kscreen service and relying on nvidia-xconfig helped, but then I lost
ability do switch to external only on "lid close".
Downgraded to 5.26, then 5.25.90 and finally layout switching works as
intended.
Right now I'm running RTX 2060 on an AMD laptop with internal GPU disabled in
BIOS.
Screen is a 1440p@165hz, using DP cable, 1080o@144hz internal.
