I tried to reproduce the crash for about 20 minutes in total after setting the basic render loop, but I didn't see the crash happen. Since the crash usually happened after a second to a few minutes when I was moving the cursor over the task manager icons, plasmashell using the basic render loop might not be affected by this problem. The problem and patch as described at https://invent.kde.org/plasma/plasma-integration/-/merge_requests/59 make sense to me.
