            Bug ID: 462368
Summary: QTAV-library has been removed from unstable
    Classification: Applications
           Product: digikam
           Version: 7.7.0
          Platform: Debian unstable
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: digikam-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: mgerstenhoe...@gmx.de
  Target Milestone: ---

digikam uses the qtav-framework.
The qtav-libraries have been removed from the unstable repository of debian.
Due to less to none reaction by the maintainers as it seems.
eg: https://bugs.debian.org/cgi-bin/bugreport.cgi?bug=971329

The ppa suggested on the qtav-website is not maintained or updated for over 271
days.

The question to you digikam-guys is now, do you really want to rely on such a
weak maintained and not really settled framework in the future? Is there really
no other way feeding ffmpeg properly as that by using qtav?
That does not fit to the big news that digikam can now handle videos as well.

Thanks for your other works!
kind regards,
Max
