Bug ID: 462842
Summary: Blacklist/filters for themes and authors
Classification: Frameworks and Libraries
Product: frameworks-knewstuff
Version: unspecified
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: wishlist
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
In its current state, the search for themes, colours, icons is difficult to use
due to the overabundance of almost identical themes, which are updated almost
daily by basically two or three authors (you probably know them). It has become
extremely difficult to find anything that is not produced by them, especially
if one searches for most recent, and this makes both pling and the integrated
knewstuff tool much less usable than it would otherwise be.
Since I don't think it is feasible or probably even fair to ask to ban these
contributors, I think a good solution might be to allow the end user to set
filters to exclude unwanted themes or authors from the lists.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open https://store.kde.org or a knewstuff window
2. Search for a theme, icon or colorscheme that's not submitted by the same
one/two authors
OBSERVED RESULT
You have to scroll a long time before you find a theme that is not among the
unwanted authors and be very careful to see it there.
EXPECTED RESULT
I want to be able to access the whole variety of themes available without
having to struggle slaloming through the enormous vastness of themes all the
same and too frequently updated produced by just one or two authors.
