            Bug ID: 369007
Summary: Greyscale images saved as colour
           Product: Skanlite
           Version: 1.1
          Platform: Other
                OS: Linux
            Status: UNCONFIRMED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: kare.s...@iki.fi
          Reporter: psychon...@nothingisreal.com

With my scanner, Skanlite gives me the option of scanning in greyscale or in
colour. However, images that are scanned in greyscale are saved with RGB-space
colour (at least when PNG is selected as the output format). This needlessly
inflates the size of the image by up to three times.

When Skanlite saves an image that has been scanned in greyscale, could you
please have it save the image in greyscale?

Reproducible: Always

Steps to Reproduce:
1. Scan an image in greyscale.
2. Save the image.

Actual Results:
3. Even though the image is in shades of grey, it contains separate red, green,
and blue channels.

Expected Results:
3. The image should be a genuine greyscale image, with only a single channel.
