Bug ID: 463874
Summary: Disconnecting a connected device does not remove
"Connected to ..." persistent notification
Classification: Applications
Product: kdeconnect
Version: unspecified
Platform: Android
OS: Android 11.x
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: android-application
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
When a host device is disconnected, it does not always remove the persistent
"Connected to <device>" notification. Even though opening the application on my
Android phone clearly shows the "right" status (no connected devices). SEE
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION BELOW !
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
Note : "host" in these steps will refer to the PC initiating the connection to
the android phone.
1. Have a host device connected to your phone (check its status in the
application and wait for the persistent notification to appear).
2. Lock the phone.
3. Shutdown the host machine (I opened a terminal and launched the poweroff
command).
4. (Optional, I do not yet know if it has an impact or not) Get away from your
router's WiFi network so the connection is also "severed" from the phone's
perspective.
OBSERVED RESULT
The persistent notification stays in my Notification Center, and cannot be
dismissed.
EXPECTED RESULT
The persistent notification should disappear from the Notification Center.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Android 11, on a Fairphone 4.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
A few things to note :
- The steps to reproduce (stated below) will represent what I did today to
get this bug, and will be updated if I ever can reproduce it.
- The bug was done when using KDEConnect on Android but the host was using
the GSConnect GNOME extension, which implements the KDEConnect protocols for
GNOME. If I can reproduce the bug using KDEConnect under the PLASMA framework,
I'll mention it in an update.
