In the 22.12 release, we changed the default settings to remember the last-used
rectangular region by default. What's the the existing bug white rectangle is.
If you preferred the old change, you can go back to it by showing Spectacle's
settings window changing the value of "Remember selected area" to either
"Never" or "Until Spectacle is closed".
I didn't agree with this change, but a bunch of other people did, so I didn't
try to veto it. For now I'm closing this bug report since it was an intentional
change. But if we get a lot more complaints, we can consider re-opening it and
returning to the old behavior.
