STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Opened file, working properly the previous day
2. Added reference images
3. File wouldn't update with painting or any other action
OBSERVED RESULT
Display didn't update, but work was updated on layer docker thumbnails
EXPECTED RESULT
My painting would continue to update as I paint and change layers, and it
didn't.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Windows:
macOS:
Linux/KDE Plasma: Krita v 5.1.0, then updated to 5.1.5 with same results. Using
appimage for both version. Running Linux Mint 20.3 Cinnamon
(available in About System)

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
I was able to copy/paste layers into a new file and it worked perfectly.
