            Bug ID: 469552
Summary: Seeking using first letter regression
    Classification: Applications
           Product: dolphin
           Version: 23.04.0
          Platform: Archlinux
                OS: Linux
            Status: REPORTED
          Severity: normal
          Priority: NOR
         Component: general
          Assignee: dolphin-bugs-n...@kde.org
          Reporter: pepk...@gmail.com
                CC: kfm-de...@kde.org
  Target Milestone: ---

Hello, I am quite sure that recently there was a change to the way dolphin
reacts to key presses inside a directory.

Here's my workload and how it got broken:
Say I'm in /etc and I want to go to "fstab" file, sure I could type fstab to
select it directly, or use filter function, but what if I don't know the
correct file name. I could keep pressing "F" key until I get to the file I
wanted to, but I want to skip folders, there used to be a trick in such case:
1. Scroll down past folders and select any file
2. Press first letter key until you get to the desired file
3. Seeking continues from where selection was made. !!!!! That's the crucial
part !!!!

So recently it changed for some reason, instead of continuing from where the
selection is it jumps back to the beginning, starting from folders. That
obviously wastes my time, because I have to go through folders first, before
going to files.
