Bug ID: 470258 Summary: Running stopwatch stops the monitor from shutting off and the PC from going into standby mode Classification: Applications Product: kronometer Version: unspecified Platform: Fedora RPMs OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: minor Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: elvis.angelac...@kde.org Reporter: mor...@pc-heini.de Target Milestone: --- I recently bought an OLED monitor and set the monitor to shut off after 3 minutes in the KDE settings. A running stopwatch in Kronometer stops that from happening and I don't think it should because it significantly increases the chance of burn in if the monitor stays on when you don't expect it to. Even if the PC goes into standby mode, Kronometer should still be able to calculate the difference between the current time and the time when the stopwatch was started. STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. go into energy settings and make sure screen power management is enabled 2. start Kronometer 3. press on start 4. wait until you monitor should turn off OBSERVED RESULT monitor never turns off EXPECTED RESULT monitor should be able to turn off if no other application is stopping it SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS Linux/KDE Plasma: Fedora 38 (available in About System) KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.5 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.106.0 Qt Version: 5.15.9 -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
