Bug ID: 471938
Summary: User files are deleted when saved with a different
name
Classification: Applications
Product: ghostwriter
Version: 23.04.2
Platform: Neon
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: critical
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Since at least the update to version 23.04.2, ghostwriter appears to delete
user files when saving them with a new name. I have witnessed this behaviour
when saving a file with a new name: the old file is deleted from the disk. It
is not even moved to the recycling bin, it is simply removed altogether. This
means the user can, and will, lose their data.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open a file.
2. Save it with a new name in a different directory.
OBSERVED RESULT
The file you opened is deleted.
EXPECTED RESULT
The file you opened is left intact.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux: KDE neon
KDE Plasma Version: 5.27.6
KDE Frameworks Version: 5.107.0
Qt Version: 5.15.10
