Turned power OFF 4. Wait 30 minutes of more. 5. Restart PC I previously rebooted or turned PC off with not change. I have found that there must be some CMOS or cache memory that does not clear until there is no power at all for several minutes. Some stuff has to be purged it seems. When I rebooted both screens displayed. I already knew that the monitor was "working" from the screenshot of the blacked-out monitor (see screenshot to see what I mean). I stress that this is no way a fix. (Re)Installing a fresh driver package merely set things back to how they 'should be' after an install. It is good enough to get me productive again. I did not change driver version, etc. I just applied "Nouveau" and then, restart then changed to the driver I was using originally.
