Bug ID: 472845
Summary: Control/limit logging of frequent warning
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasmashell
Version: 5.27.5
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected]
Target Milestone: 1.0
SUMMARY
I am using x2go to access a remote machine. X2go causes
/var/log/syslog
to fill up with the exact same message, several thousand lines per second:
plasmashell[<number>]: Warning: found huge icon. The icon data may be
ill-encoded. (-1 x -1)
which makes it hard to scan the file and find actually important information.
I am not quite sure why this is logged at all, but it certainly should not be
logged to that extend.
OBSERVED RESULT
Log fills up with that not very informative warning.
EXPECTED RESULT
Do not log more than once per second at least.
Even better, do not log at all or allow easy configuration.
