It made me realise I was actually using "adaptive" profile originally. Though not sure how it was set. I'm guessing that after upgrading to 5.27.5 it was set to "flat" in systemsettings. Though only when using Plasma, for Windowmaker it stayed set to adaptive. I'll have to investigate that. Anyways, apologies for the noise. Clearly the issue is on my side.
