After NM upgrade incl. restarting NM, the applet apparently loses conenction to
the service and cannot be reanimated. Only way to get it back is to log out and
in again.
It's a quite recent issue.
No idea if it crashes, since plasma apparently either doesn't log anything
anymore or silently logs elsewhere now.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. apt dist-upgrade
2. NetworkManager is restarted
3. NM applet is broken, no connection, no status
OBSERVED RESULT
NM applet in unusable state
EXPECTED RESULT
NM applet continues to work as before
