This only happens when Appearance→Cursor→Shape is set to "Block", not if it is "I-Beam" or "Underline". *** STEPS TO REPRODUCE 1. Open konsole with a new profile 2. Settings->Edit Current Profile and check Appearance→Complex Text Layout→Use the same attributes for whole word 3. Open vim without any user config with "vim -u NONE" 4. Type any word 5.
