Plasma desktop using X11 will load, including desktop widgets and wall paper.
Then it restarts. It will attempt this a few times before calling it quits.
The same behavior is noted if I try to restart w/ kdeinit5 plasmashell.
Unfortunately, I recently updated my KDE and added a bunch of desktop widgets.
I will see if it repeats w/ Wayland. I did something yeterday that gave me a
stable desktop, but I cannot for the life of me remember what it was (I cannot
remove desktop widgets to exclude them as the cause of a segfault). I can
still launch programs via alt+F2 and they run fine, and (fortunately) my Latte
task bar still works.
The crash can be reproduced every time.
