Bug ID: 477821
Summary: Need a better icon for "Turn off screen" in Energy
Saving KCM
Classification: Applications
Product: systemsettings
Version: 5.90.0
Platform: Other
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: minor
Priority: NOR
Component: kcm_powerdevil
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
The PowerDevil power state profile configuration settings use the icon
"osd-shutd-screen-symbolic" for "Turn off screen", as defined in
powerdevil/kcmodule/common/PowerButtonActionModel.cpp. I didn't find an
actually applicable icon in the Breeze icon set to convey "display off" so the
current icon is a very rough compromise, but man is it rough.
If breeze-icons added something along the lines of "input-touchpad-off" or
"camera-off", but with the monitor from e.g.
"video-display-brightness-symbolic", I'd pick that for PowerDevil settings in a
heartbeat. (Maybe we should even switch to "video-display-brightness-symbolic"
until such an icon exists.)
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Open "Energy Saving" module in System Settings.
2. Open the dropdown pop-up for "When power button pressed:", where the last
icon stands out like a sore thumb.
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
