I'm submitting this bug report on behalf of my wife, who just started to
experience the issue with a new computer that has an AMD 7840u CPU and AMD
Radeon 780m GPU. The issue:
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install the game Rimworld on Steam, and use Proton Experimental or Stable to
run it
2. Launch the game
3. Alt-tab out of it, or else put the computer to sleep (S0 low power idle aka
"Modern Standby"; the system does not support traditional S3 sleep) and then
wake it up
EXPECTED RESULTS
Nothing bad happens
ACTUAL RESULTS
The screen turns completely white with the cursor movable over the white
screen. The contents on the screen remain interactive, but cannot be seen
because everything (except the cursor) is white.

OS: Fedora KDE 39; Plasma 5.27.10

ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
Switching VTs briefly works around the problem and makes the true screen
contents return. However after a few seconds, the screen (except for the
cursor) turns white again.
The problem is not reproducible with the same game and same OS on the older
hardware--an AMD 4800H CPU and a Vega GPU
