Bug ID: 480665 Summary: KDE Neon 5.27.10: baloo significantly slows down file copying to a usb device Classification: Frameworks and Libraries Product: frameworks-baloo Version: unspecified Platform: Neon OS: Linux Status: REPORTED Severity: normal Priority: NOR Component: general Assignee: baloo-bugs-n...@kde.org Reporter: martin.tlus...@gmail.com Target Milestone: --- SUMMARY I tried to copy a movie from an external hard drive to a usb stick, and it took way too long. Dolphin even became unresponsive in the process. I tried to track the problem down, so started windows and copied the same file (2.1GB). Was done in less than a minute. Went back to Linux, tried to copy from command line (cp): about as fast as windows. Then I disabled baloo, and it copied the same file again in about 20 seconds. Re-enabled baloo, and it took over five minutes to copy the same file. *** NOTE: If you are reporting a crash, please try to attach a backtrace with debug symbols.
