While I find this feature request reasonable this bug report is way too old and
has seen no love yet so I seriously doubt it will ever be implemented.
Marked as NEEDSINFO:LATER because WONTFIX sounds a bit abrasive and I don't
know for sure.
Is this considered worth implementing?
Personally I have not used zipped files for storage of personal files for quite
some time now, so I would have less incentives to run a search inside zipped
files. But I think that if we have the resources to do it it could be a nice
feature to have. It could be useful when digging through very old files
(college assignments etc).
