I'm making a theme for myself, which doesn't have white text, and the files on
the desktop don't follow the colour scheme.

STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Change the text colour in the 'Appearance > Colours' section of the system
settings.
2. Files and folders on the desktop don't change text colour.
OBSERVED RESULT
Files and folders on the desktop don't change text colour.
EXPECTED RESULT
Files and folders on the desktop should change text colour.
