My file names has dots inside, such as: "2023.07.25_09.40_IMG_5552.CR2" It seems that digiKam now considers the filename as "until the first dot", instead of "until the last dot". So, it considers they have all the same file name ("2023" in my example). After renaming some files to remove the dots, the group feature perfectly works.
