I have also put besides this image a screenshot of Thunar. I think the contrast there is much better, both because the icons are blue and because the background is white. So my original request still stands: 1. I would like to request being able to change the background color of the Places section (to white) 2. I would like to request to be able to turn off 'monochrome' for the icons at this size. I know we can increase the size of the icons to make them have color, but then they become too big:).
