missing Information in identify string and showing not helpful elide in drop
down
SUMMARY
KScreen mixed up my monitor order (again), so I tried to reorder it. Last time
I had to do it, was in KDE 5 with X11, the switch to 6 and wayland was
seemless.
If I now try to reorder the screens its quite annoying to see a bug I already
reported around last year (but could not find it anymore) about the edid
infomation that was missing a digit reappear in a similar manner. now the
Identify Strings do not match with the strings inside the reorder screen. In
fact for both screens the Identify strings are the same. for clarification I
added a screenshot.
The information inside the ordering widget is correct, the information inside
the identify is not
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Attach two identical monitors (only difference is their serial number)
2. Try to identify the screens
OBSERVED RESULT
Both identify strings are the same, and do not contain the information
displayed in the ordering widget
EXPECTED RESULT
1. The Identify Strings should contain the full serial number
2. (optional) have a bigger drop down box for selecting the screens, or elide
left, or make the weight of the center widget higher than the spacers left and
right (so one can see the important difference when using the drop down menu
for selecting the screens)
