Bug ID: 485376
Summary: org.freedesktop.portal.Inhibit (used by Firefox
flatpak) does not prevent screen locking / sleeping
Classification: Plasma
Product: xdg-desktop-portal-kde
Version: 6.0.3
Platform: openSUSE
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: general
Assignee: [email protected]
Reporter: [email protected]
CC: [email protected], [email protected], [email protected]
Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Since https://bugzilla.mozilla.org/show_bug.cgi?id=1860269 Firefox flatpak uses
org.freedesktop.portal.Inhibit to prevent the computer from locking / switching
off the screen when playing videos.
KDE Plasma recognises this (the battery and brightness applet displays a
message, that firefox prevents screen lock), but the screen locks anyway.
I have confirmed that this works correctly in GNOME.
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Set up automatic screen locking / turnoff on the device
2. Install Firefox flatpak from flathub
3. Play a video (for example YouTube)
OBSERVED RESULT
- The battery and brightness applet displays a message, that firefox prevents
screen lock
- The screen locks anyway
EXPECTED RESULT
the screen is not locked or switched off when watching videos with firefox
flatpak, just like it does in GNOME
SOFTWARE/OS VERSIONS
Linux/KDE Plasma:
openSUSE Tumbleweed / KDE Plasma version 6.0.3
