SUMMARY
A way to make 3 finger touchpad gesture faster or more reliable?
I am using OpenSUSE on my ThinkPad T14 G2 AMD with KDE on Wayland and the
touchpad gestures are set up in a way that three finger up/down/left/right
switches the virtual desktops by default.
I use a top/bottom virtual desktops and when I use the three finger gesture to
switch between them, I found that I can't just "flick" my fingers to switch -
since it is a 1:1 gesture I have to travel some distance with my fingers til it
completes the switching. Is there a way to speed it up or make it not 1:1 for
just this particular gesture?
For example simple 2 finger scroll on desktop achieves what i want - it
switches instantly, but that ofcourse works only on the desktop, not when I am
using another app. I use a remote desktop on one VT and my browser as well as
terminal and ssh sessions on another VT, sometimes i need quick switching. I
would like to avoid using a keyboard shortcut and just use the touchpad
gesture.
Is there a way to configure it the way i described it?
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Use KDE on Wayland with 3 finger touchpad gesture to switch VDs
2. Scroll with 3 fingers (slow gesture)
3. Scroll with 2 fingers on desktop (quick gesture)
OBSERVED RESULT
As it's a 1:1 gesture it requires longer movement and travel to trigger the
switch
EXPECTED RESULT
Quick switching - identical to scrolling on the desktop.
