The development version has a vast number of improvements though, to be part of the next stable Desktop release in December. The same map is used in our Android version "Marble Maps", currently available as a public beta [1] and scheduled for release end of November (in two weeks) [2]. Later on we will likely use some of the data from the Vector OSM map theme in the Atlas map to provide more details and updated data there.
