Interesting. Kmail2 has been crashing frequently and badly on me, particularly
when opening certain email messages. People from the OpenBSD camp have been
suggesting hardware issues with memory corruption, but that sounds dubious to
me, especially with respect to specific reproducible bugs and I suspect there
are deeper issues with memory leaks and with a buggy GNU C++ compiler showing
up on the KDE/Qt desktop in general, which actually uses advanced C++ features
that do need to work correctly in compiled code. I much prefer the user
interface of KDE, but for the time being (this past year or so) I have switched
to Gnome desktop and had somewhat better luck with system stability.
Thunderbird on the laptop/desktop and K-9 Mail on my mobile device are my
current solutions.
