Sorry that it took so long for someone to get to it. First, does this still happen with current Plasma? If it does, can you add a few more details about what exactly happens - is there an on-screen display happening, does your full-screen window keep focus or is focus moved elsewhere (and if so, where), and if you have volume change keys on your keyboard, do these cause you to exit full-screen as well or only the ones on your headphones?
