Rob Boudreau <robtt...@gmail.com> changed: What |Removed |Added ---------------------------------------------------------------------------- CC| |robtt...@gmail.com --- Comment #15 from Rob Boudreau <robtt...@gmail.com> --- I can confirm the memory problem, though whether it's a leak or just memory not being released I don't know. Plasmashell doesn't seem to grow overnight or when the machine is idle, but any interaction with the desktop will increase plasmashell's resident memory. At start it's usually 173Mb, then depending on what I'm doing, will increase in 4-5Mb chunks or more. After just a few hours it can be as much as 400-500Mb. It will continue to grow if I let it, I've had it over a gig before, but now I usually kill plasmashell and restart it once or twice a day. System specs: KDE Plasma Version: 5.8.4 KDE Frameworks Version: 5.28.0 Qt Version: 5.7.0 Kernel Version: 4.8.10-1-ARCH Processors: 4xIntel Core i5-3470 CPU @ 3.20GHz Memory: 8 GiB Video: NVIDIA GF108 [GeForce GT 630] Driver: NVIDIA 375.20 The system is Arch with all the latest updates from the stable repos. I've tried the 'QSG_RENDER_LOOP=basic' with no effect. Tried changing rendering backends (OpenGL 3.1, 2.0 and xrender), switching to the nouveau driver, no noticeable difference. Kinfo reports almost all the used memory is held in the heap. Any other information I can add that may be helpful in tracking this down, just ask. -- You are receiving this mail because: You are watching all bug changes.
