Bug ID: 493949
Summary: Double Tap to wake wakes phone up in pocket
Classification: Plasma
Product: plasma-mobile
Version: unspecified
Platform: postmarketOS
OS: Linux
Status: REPORTED
Severity: normal
Priority: NOR
Component: Shell
Assignee: [email protected]

Target Milestone: ---
SUMMARY
Plasma Mobile seems to always enable double tap to wake. This means a user can
double tap the screen when the screen is off, but the device isn't in deep
sleep, to wake up the device.
The problem is that double tap to wake can not be disabled and that it
activates when the phone is in a users pocket
STEPS TO REPRODUCE
1. Install Plasma Mobile on a device
2. Put the device to sleep (ensure deep sleep/suspend is disabled or on a
longer timeout)
3. Double tap the screen to wake up the device
4. Put device back to sleep
5. Put device in your pocket and check in a few minutes, the device will be
awake from a double tap event
OBSERVED RESULT
The device wakes up in a pocket
EXPECTED RESULT
For the device to not wake up in a pocket. So either avoid double tap to wake
based on light input, or at least allow users to disable the feature.
