However it's something for a distro to implement, as this is really about how Plasma is *packaged*, not how it's developed. KDE Linux has this as an explicit design goal; see https://community.kde.org/KDE_Linux#Goals. We haven't implemented it yet, but we plan to. Alternatively, you can achieve this yourself by starting with a distro that ships stable Plasma, and building everything from source yourslf in your homedir; then you can log into whichever session you want. This is what I personally do, and it's our current recommended supported dev setup, documented at https://develop.kde.org/docs/getting-started/building/kde-builder-setup.
