Hello, my name is Thomas Fischer aka thomasfischer or f15h. I started more than 10 years ago as a German translator for KDE (kdeutils for some time during 3.x), but moved on to programming. I have/am contributing patches to various KDE projects like Okular, KGpg, or KCharSelect. My biggest project is KBibTeX [1], a BibTeX editor for KDE. I started this project around 2005 and have been developing it ever since. The program is included in most KDE-friendly Linux distributions (and KDE-for-Windows) and it has a loyal user base (judging by the bug reports). The project is currently hosted at Gna!, which provides a SVN repository, bug tracker, homepage, and download space for tar-balls.
I would like to move KBibTeX to the KDE infrastructure and let it become a "real" KDE project for several reasons: - Make use of the infrastructure like git repositories, bug tracker, wiki (userbase, techbase, community) as those are tailored towards a KDE-based project - Make KBibTeX better known among KDE users, developers, and supporters - Profit from a more formalized development and release process including translations (so far, KBibTeX is known for ever postponed releases) Looking forward to hear from you and join KDE! Greetings from Sweden, Thomas [1] http://home.gna.org/kbibtex/
