Hello Wodsfort,

I believe the Google integration is mainly for users who wish to access their Google Drive via Dolphin. I believe its also used for syncing email and contacts with KMail and sharing videos to YouTube as well.

I remember seeing a thread on Discuss that Google frequently blocks the sign in flow, so claiming the domain name with them and formally registering as a project under Google Cloud may resolve this.

And I believe the partnership with Google is just a financial contribution, however someone else may be able to correct me here.

Regards,

Ben

It looks interesting: Free software plans to be integrated with close software(google). Also Google is partner of KDE.Why integration with google needed?

Hi all,

As part of some upcoming infrastructure changes, I'd appreciate it if people who have registered a Google account under theirĀ @kde.org <http://kde.org> address could please let me know.

Would be extra helpful if you could also advise what the account is used for / to access.

There isn't anything wrong here, but i'm considering claiming the domain "kde.org <http://kde.org>" for the purposes of a organization account to hold Google Projects (used to grant our applications access to Google services) in a more central manner than we do currently

Thanks,
Ben
