Worked fine on the MeeGo bugzilla for instance, I previously used.
Personally I'm not sure whether the MeeGo bugzilla can be compared to
the KDE one (technical oriented vs. user oriented). From my personal
experience (KWin bugtracker is felt > 90 % a user support forum) I would
not allow users to edit/close all bugs. We have too many users who
report bugs, get it set to WONTFIX/INVALID and just reopen it. If I now
imagine that everyone would be allowed to do so...
Also I clearly don't want that people can change product or confirm
bugs - that is something I like to see people doing where I know that I
can trust them. Funny site note: I find it annoying that bugs reported
by other developers are opened as "NEW" instead of "UNCONFIRMED".
I really like the idea of giving further rights to users who care. That
is there are enough users in the bugtracker where you very fast notice
that they are capable of doing bug tracking work. Helping them to become
a triager - maybe just by sending a mail "do you want more rights" -
might bring us quite some help in that area.
