I'm not sure. I'm assuming that it would result in some sort of linker
errors.

How is this relevant?

kdelibs installs the folowing nepomuk libraries - libnepomuk,
libnepomukquery and libnepomukutils
nepomuk-core combines all of them along with the new apis under the name -
libnepomukcore
