The proper thing to use would be a tarball, but it seems last released tarball of kmldonkey lived inside ftp://ftp.kde.org/pub/kde/stable/4.3.3/src/extragear that does not exist anymore. So i guess you should contact the maintainer and ask for a proper release you can package. Though it might prove quite an effort to find someone called kmldonkey maintainer. So to answer your question, yeah i guess the best thing you can package at the moment is what lives in /trunk/extragear/network/kmldonkey/ unless someone has the tarball at hand (you might be able to get it from debian or some other distro repo maybe?)
