First of all, many-many thanks to you for replying; now I know at
least someone is reading my mails.

I have already done that but the backtrace does not seem useful (or I
may be looking at it incorrectly). And given that my code effectively
has only 7-8 lines (please see previous mails in this thread), I am
wondering what the problem may be. I'll reply with the backtrace asap.
