Don't worry about that. KDeclarative is "done" in terms of Plasma 1 / Qt4. We use it in a bunch of applications (ktouch, plasma desktop, active, mediacenter). While we never committed to real BIC (we weren't confident to keep it working like that, as it uses internal Qt stuff) it's just very unlikely that we'll change it in KDE SC 4 version. We've already ported it in parts to Frameworks 5, and have talked about its future in the past sprint. >From the API user point of view, we haven't figured out yet if how we could add global functions, so the worst case scenario in porting might be s/i18n(/KDE.i18n(/ or somesuch (don't pin me on the API yet, we'll provide a script).
