Hello baloo devs,
i am a happy and fullfilled kde user for about 4 years. I love kde and
philosophy behind kde, that is do not force the users with choices.
But the case with baloo (previously nepomuk) is different. There is no
concise, exact option to disable baloo. To disable it we need to do
some hackery with command line here and there. Devs contantly telling
people (or trying to convince, distracting) that baloo is better and
the problems which nepomuk had are not present in baloo or those are
improved. But baloo or previously nepomuk is considered useless by
many many normal users or has no perticular use for nay people.
Nepomuk/baloo eats cpu power,therefore more electricity,therefore more
cost, therefore more annoyence which is uneccessary for most people.
And what is considerd uneccessary by the general users, should have an
option to disable it. This topic is discussed hundred times on various
forums, blogs. But EVERY times devs do not understand what users are
saying about baloo, they don't want war against baloo just want a
simple option to disable it. But devs just keep on telling report a
new bug,do this or do that. IT is not about configuring it is about
choice of user to use baloo or not.
There is no way we can be heard i guess.
I beg you guys to add a simple, exact, precise option at KCM for
disabling baloo. Please.
