Hi Benson, I think you need to choose an KDE application or team you would prefer to work with or decide which of the ideas is the most interesting for you and then contact the respective team. This mailing list (kde-devel) is a central place for general discussions in KDE, but there are also many mailing list for almost every subproject. For example if you choose to work on Krita [1], then please subscribe to their mailing list [2], introduce yourself in an email. You can also start talking to the developers on IRC [3]. When you are confident about your choice of the GSoC project, you need to write a formal proposal, see some notes on writing one here [4]. The proposal is very important and has significant effect on whether you will be accepted or not for GSoC with your project. There is a limited number of slots given to KDE so some applications are filtered out each year. Some student even start with writing their proposal - I mean they submit their proposal to Melange at the same time when they introduce themselves to the team. P.S. I has never participated in GSoC so I might be missing something.
