I hope we do find *some* version of KDE post 4.1.4 we can get to the point that it all compiles again; 4.3 just entered hard freeze, so we can still push fixes upstream for compile problems and the like. Did you (or someone else?) file a whole bunch of compile error bugs in bugs.kde.org? I was pointed at them by one of the admins, and I'll try to upstream them relatively soon.
