Your notes certainly do make it look easy.
When you say that the final step is not really working i.e.
being able to actually login to KDE 4.2(3), I guess this would preclude
me from using it to
debug the locking bug at this stage ?

I woke up this morning to discover that my build failed during the
night, a snippet from the
output:

INFO: FOSSunixodbc PASSED

Summary:

                         package |      status | details
---------------------------------+-------------+-------------------------------
FOSSqt | FAILED | pkgbuild build failed
                      FOSSstdcxx | PASSED |
                    FOSSunixodbc | PASSED |

                     FOSSncurses | PASSED |
make: *** [build-FOSSqt] Error 1

Tailing FOSSqt.log, I get :

pkgbuild: pkgbuild: File not found by glob:
/var/tmp/pkgbuild-mk147459/FOSSqt-4.4.1-build/opt/foss/qt4/plugins/sqldrivers/libqsqlmysql.so

So, I guess the sqldriver wasn't built, perhaps there is a bug in the
dependencies ?
